Dear NCA supporter,
"NCA is bringing together the dedicated and passionate people involved in community cultural programming. As the director of Suzuki School of Newton, I feel that being part of NCA is making a difference to our city as a whole. Newton is a vibrant community with a cultural richness that provides multiple opportunities for arts participation from the basic amateur to highly-skilled professionals. I appreciate all these creative, smart people who make arts and culture happen here. We employ administrative and artistic staff, increase local spending and create new revenue for businesses via our audiences. NCA's advocacy for arts and culture is key in building Newton's financial strength."

About the Newton Symphony Orchestra
The Newton Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1965 with a mission to provide Newton and the surrounding communities with fine music at affordable prices, close to home; to provide area volunteer and
pre-professional musicians with the opportunity to develop their skills and play high-quality music; and to enhance music appreciation, promote cross-cultural understanding, and build community through outreach programs for students, seniors, and others.

The Healing Power of Music:
The Mind/Body/Spirit Connection

The Newton Symphony Orchestra (NSO) presents The Healing Power of Music:
The Mind/Body/Spirit Connection, a two-day event focused on the belief that music has the power to transform lives-physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

On Saturday, February 27th,
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., the NSO hosts a Wellness Fair in Stoddard Hall on the campus of the Andover Newton Theological School/Hebrew College, 210 Herrick Road, Newton Center.  The fair will include lectures and workshops by a wide range of noted experts in the field, speaking on topics ranging from music therapy to stress management to research on the positive effects of music for the elderly; and an exhibit hall of Boston area health and wellness organizations.

On Sunday, February 28th, at 3:00 p.m. at the Rashi School Auditorium, 15 Walnut Park, Newton Corner, the NSO will present The Healing Power of Music Concert. Under the direction of James M. Orent, the program will include a variety of selections that have been used to enhance personal meditation and visualization to overcome medical challenges and promote lifelong wellness.

Tickets for the Wellness Fair are $20 per person, or $30 for the Fair and Concert. Tickets for the concert only are available for $27 - $32 with a discount for seniors, students, and children under 14.
